Paver Patio and Sidewalks

A paver patio extends your home’s living space to the outdoors and adds to its value.

Paver Patio

The first rule of thumb in building a paver patio is to first decide on its primary use. Is it going to be a family gathering spot, a place for entertaining co-workers and friends, or a small space for simply enjoying the outdoors. Talking with with us about how you are going to use the patio will provide a foundation upon which to begin sharing ideas.

If the focus of the patio is for entertainment, we can discuss the option of a fire pit or fireplace for social gatherings. If space is not an issue, a location for a bar area might be considered as well. On the other hand, if it is a family gathering you desire, then we may focus on a barbeque and area for summer dinner outside.

One of the questions we get asked the most is about the value a patio will add to your home. In State College and surrounding areas, a patio is considered a very desirable feature that translates to the home’s selling price. Not only does outdoor living space also increase the functional square footage of a home, but it provides an that added dimension to enjoy the central Pennsylvania summers.

The National Home Builders Association (NAHB) conducted a survey on the housing preferences overall and by generation. Having a patio ranked number 7 overall on the most wanted list, but for millennials, this was number 4 on their list.
